Where to play in the South West

The story of Aberystwyth University Lacrosse began back in the year 2001, starting as a small mixed team. Since then, the club has not stopped growing, now with a full men's and women's team, both in BUCS and South West Women's Lacrosse Association league.

We are the oldest current club team in the West of England, and welcome anybody who wants to try the great sport of Lacrosse.

Ladies lacrosse at Bath is a competitive yet fun way to progress from school standard to university level. We welcome anyone to come and join us for trials at the beginning of the season.

Birmingham Lacrosse Club was formed in the 1930's and has gone from strength to strength to the present day. Our women's team is a member of the South West Lacrosse League, playing fixtures against Bath, Bristol, Cardiff etc. They continue to play regular matches against Midland Schools, Universities and Clubs once or twice a month.

The club offers men’s, women’s and mixed teams. Many of our current members and alumni represent their countries at the highest level demonstrating the impressive standard of our competitive teams

BTLC is a friendly women's lacrosse club based in Bournemouth. Costs £6 per session @ Chapel Gate. It is under floodlights on astroturf. All abilities are welcome! Sticks can be provided if you don't have your own. We are a member of the South West Women's Lacrosse Association. Currently competing in the Invitational Cup and lots of friendlies lined up.

If you're a gifted lacrosse player and are keen to represent BU in your sport or wish to try a new sport, TeamBU Lacrosse (our group of Performance Sport lacrosse players) will help you reach the next level.
We have one men's team and two women's teams who compete in BUCS leagues and competitions throughout the academic year.

Bristol Bombers Lacrosse club was formed in 2007 by a handful of enthusiasts and has now grown into one of the biggest clubs in the South West.

Whether you are looking for a casual, social sport or the opportunity to compete at a top University level, this club has something to offer everyone.

We are one of the largest mixed societies within Cardiff University club with a variety of members from complete beginners to international players.

Cheltenham Lacrosse Club are committed to playing and growing the sport of Lacrosse with anyone who wants to be involved. We have teams that play men and women’s lacrosse,and have regular training sessions and social events.

CSM Lacrosse is a growing club admitting players of all levels to the women's and men's team. All the equipment you require is available for use through the club.

Exeter University Lacrosse Club is the largest lacrosse club in the country and one of the biggest mixed clubs at Exeter. The club contains seven incredibly talented and competitive BUCS teams with a further two teams either playing in regional leagues or tournament leagues. Both our women’s and men’s 1st teams play in the Southern Premiership.
The Club includes 6 competitive teams. The Ladies 1st team compete in the Southern Premier Division, the 2nds in the West division 1A, and the 3rds and beginners compete in club fixtures and tournaments."

We welcome new players of any level, from complete beginners to experienced internationals. We have 2 senior teams who play in the South East Women's Lacrosse League.
Our premiership team is mainly senior players alongside older juniors of the right mental, technical and physical maturity from school years 12/13.

Oxford University Lacrosse Club is the home of lacrosse at the University of Oxford. Founded in 1903, we have grown to have 7 teams and 150+ active members. We were honoured to win BP Club of the Year 2020 at the Oxford Sports Awards for our teams' successes and for our work raising money for Oxfordshire Mind.

A new juniors' club in Newbury with an initial focus on girls in school years 7-13 but with plans to set up a senior women's team in the not too distant future!

Plymouth Privateers Lacrosse Club is dedicated to increasing the participation of Lacrosse for those in and around the Plymouth area. Established in 2015, Plymouth Privateers Lacrosse Club (Formally Plymouth City Lacrosse Club) operated with 1 men's team playing in SEMLA West League. After some time out we are back! and we are expanding our club to incorporate a Ladies and a Mixed team to play and compete. The club is always looking to recruit new players, no previous experience of lacrosse required and any level of fitness welcomed

University of Plymouth Lacrosse club is one of the fastest growing clubs. We welcome all abilities and most of our freshers have never played the sport before so do not be afraid.

Whether you’ve never picked up a stick before (which a lot of us hadn’t) or have been playing since you can remember, University of Portsmouth Lacrosse Club is for everyone, so come and join one of the University’s most exciting clubs! We hold weekly socials, doing a whole range of different things, giving us all a chance to get to know each other on and off of the field. We also take part in various RAG events throughout the year, such as the Great South Run, Movember and Dry January; this being a great way of raising money for charity, whilst having fun at the same time.

The Rainbow Rexes were founded in 2018 as the world's first LGBTQA inclusive lacrosse team. Our ethos is simple: We Love Lacrosse and don't think anyone should feel ostracised from sport. Our team has players and coaches who are all part of the LGBTQA community. We are also very proud of our straight ally members who champion LGBTQ equality by supporting and playing for this club.

It doesn't matter if you're a seasoned player, or you have no experience at all; we will be keen to take you on and there will be plenty of opportunities within the club to learn and compete! It is the perfect sport for those wanting to try something new at university. We have many members who join in 2nd and 3rd year of university so come and give it a go! We welcome new members throughout the year, so just turn up to one of our training sessions. We are now developing our newly formed women's 3rd team, and men's 2nd team, meaning there is a place for every ability!

We train with the Reading Uni girls who provide a coach, this makes our trainings more effective and great fun having a larger group to train with. All abilities are welcome it doesn’t matter to us if you have never picked up a stick or you’ve played for your country, what matters to us that you have a passion for team sport and being with a good fun group of like minded woman.

Lacrosse is an exciting and competitive game. We welcome both sociable and competitive players of all abilities. We have matches most Wednesday's in the BUCS league as well as regular socials.

We are very welcoming and can cater for any ability level from complete beginners upwards. The club has a dedicated, qualified Level 2 lacrosse coach who plans and delivers all training sessions and attends most league fixtures as well.

Southampton University Ladies Lacrosse Club is an ever-growing club with members of all abilities. We currently have three teams, our second team are currently competing in the Western 2 Division of BUCS. Our first team who recently received a promotion in their undefeated 2019-20 season. Every year we welcome a large number of beginners to the club who mainly comprise our third team. We are a large club of incredibly friendly girls and would love to hear from you if you are interested.

We are a mixed ability club so if you're a beginner or if you've been playing for years, then we're the club for you! We currently have 2 men's teams and 2 women's teams.

University of South West Lacrosse Club

"The USW Lacrosse team were formed in 2013 by a group of friends with a passion for lacrosse, and since then have gone on to be league champions in the 2015/16 season and two time varsity winners against Trinity St David's. The team trains Monday's 7pm-8.30pm at the USW Sports Park, and games are on Wednesday afternoons, with away games all over Wales and South West England.
